A Readington Recreation Travel Program
Philosophy
- The primary goal of Readington Travel Soccer Club (RTSC), a Readington Recreation Travel Program, is to foster an environment in which township residents between the ages of 8 and 19 learn to love playing the game of soccer, the world’s #1 sport.
- Our club strives to include as many Readington residents as possible in the travel soccer program.
- Our club stresses individual and team skill and development, while promoting learning and having fun!
- Our club encourages coaches to play all players at different positions to strengthen their overall knowledge of the game.
- Our club promotes ongoing player development via a professional training program and competitive games. Each player has the opportunity to play in up to 10 league games each season and up to 4 tournaments each year.
- Our club believes that players who invest time in attending practice regularly will play at least half of every soccer game.
- Our club expects players, coaches and families to commit to their team and to RTSC for an entire year, including both the Fall and the Spring seasons. (Note: Club teams in U16/U19 flights may only require commitment for the Spring season)
- Our club requires that parents, coaches, and players embrace the MNJYSA S.A.G.E. (Set A Good Example) program.
- Our club supports the continued development of our coaches training skills by conducting and funding professional growth programs.
- Our club will promote a general learning environment rather than specialized flighting at the more junior levels (U8 –U10). In situations where numbers allow the formation of more than one team, these teams will be formed as “equal” teams and be placed in the same MNJYSA flight whenever possible (No A and B teams)
- Our club believes that the ultimate success of a team, of our coaches and of RTSC will be judged not by game results, but by the interest of our players in continuing to play travel soccer.
